In the ten years since its foundation, ék has grown into one of the most definitive groups in the Hungarian underground scene. The key to the quartet’s elementally powerful sound, dynamic and improvisation play lies in the alchemy of its members. Their concert as part of the Hey, June! series provides them with an opportunity to bring several long-cherished dreams to the stage. “The atmosphere at Müpa Budapest finally provides us with the space to try out the band with a string section. The venue’s technical qualities also give a green light to several visual concepts that we have never previously had the chance to realise. The songs are bigger than we are. They have more than one form, which is why we are really excited about how we will present earlier tracks and our latest compositions on this remarkable stage. It will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience, that’s for sure!”
