Guest:

vocals Kriszta Pocsai

One of the founders of bebop, Dizzy Gillespie was a fantastic musician with a wonderful personality. It is by keeping these values front and centre that the Dizzy Gillespie Big Band continues the tradition started by the legendary trumpet-playing songwriter and band leader. Artistic integrity and high-quality performance are guaranteed by Gillespie’s former musical collaborator and the artistic director, producer and bass guitarist of the band, John Lee. The master himself would be delighted to see what good hands his legacy (the music he himself stated somewhat immodestly was the classical music of the future) is in. The brilliant voice and expressive performance style of Kriszta Pocsai make her a popular guest for big bands. Having played with the top outfits in Hungary, she has now been invited to join one of the world’s most prestigious big bands in paying tribute to the memory of Dizzy Gillespie.
