Blind since birth, pianist Tamás Érdi overcomes difficulties in learning works of music which seem insurmountable to the sighted. "For me it's important that we should live in an accepting society, where those who cannot see do not feel handicapped,” Érdi said in one interview. "In such an idyllic world, children's inner values would prevail and society would accept children living with disabilities - because every instrument in an orchestra is equally important!” An artist who believes in the importance of presenting classical music to young people in an authentic context, Érdi now welcomes an audience of schoolchildren for an informal encounter in the company of his secondary school musical friends.
