Rising Stars
20–22 November 2026
This autumn, young talent once again takes centre stage at Müpa Budapest with the ECHO Rising Stars series, which presents Europe’s most promising performers – artists who are already enjoying successes in the continent’s leading concert halls. Selection for the programme is a prestigious professional accolade given that the musicians are nominated by Europe’s foremost musical institutions and given the opportunity to make their international debuts while encountering a wider audience.
The 2026 season offers a particularly rich and diverse selection, in which different musical eras and worlds connect in exciting ways. Two chamber ensembles, the Javus Quartett and the Amelio Trio, will demonstrate how the classical tradition continues to thrive through dialogue with contemporary voices. The solo recitals trace their own distinctive musical arcs: violinist Ava Bahari will guide the audience through three centuries of the repertoire, while cellist Petar Pejčić promises to bring the spiritual dimension of music to the fore. The voice will be heard from two contrasting perspectives: Elionor Martínez will conjure the world of the Baroque in a historically informed programme, while Camila Mandillo will delight the audience with songs from the 20th and 21st centuries.
A recurring feature of the Rising Stars concerts is the performance of new works commissioned by ECHO, compositions that bring fresh impetus to every programme and highlight the continual renewal of classical music. Discussions after the concerts further enrich the experience, offering insights into the artists’ philosophy and creative processes.
