JazzTime
28-30 August 2026
This year’s JazzTime Festival welcomes three outstanding female artists across three evenings, each of them accompanied by a Hungarian ensemble. The line-up could hardly be more colourful: performers distinctly rich in character will blend with contrasting artistic visions, styles and vibes during the final weekend of summer at Müpa Budapest’s season-opening event. On Friday, 28 August, Veronica Swift, a refined jazz diva who is a compelling interpreter of evergreen standards and a virtuoso of scat singing, takes to the stage of the Béla Bartók National Concert Hall. She will be carried on the wings of the elegant yet powerful accompaniment of the Budapest Jazz Orchestra. On Saturday, 29 August, seven-time Grammy winner and six-time nominee Nicole Zuraitis (a vocalist, pianist and composer, who also teaches masterclasses in performance arts alongside Swift) invites the audience of the Festival Theatre into her own enchanting musical universe, a kind of Modern Songbook exploration. She will perform together with the kindred spirits from the Modern Art Orchestra, and her husband, drummer Dan Pugach, who also leads his own big band. The main performer on Sunday, 30 August not only sings, but also plays the trombone with rare virtuosity and originality. Aubrey Logan is a highly regarded and sought-after artist both within and beyond the jazz world, having worked with Dave Koz, Meghan Trainor and Postmodern Jukebox. She will light up the Festival Theatre alongside Krisztián Csapó’s all-star band.
