The Carbonfools
1 April 2012 Sunday
6 pm - 8 pm
Festival Theatre
Featuring DJ Titusz - electronics, gadgets, Balázs Fehér - vocals, Tamás Keleti - drums, István Fekete - guitar, Milán Miklós – bass

The band made its debut at the 2001 Sziget Festival and has been performing regularly ever since. Their first album, Poisoned Goulash came out in 2004 with a fusion of electronic beats and live music, a mix of rock, blues, reggae, dub, disco, folk, ethno, darkwave and modern electronica. In the summer of 2006, vocalist Balázs Fehér joined the line-up, who with his lyrics made the musical style of the Carbonfools incomprehensible. The band released the album Carbonheart in 2008, tracks off which were in heavy rotation on radio stations and TV channels alike, not to mention the hundreds of thousands of downloads. As one of the country’s most popular live bands, they play club gigs on a regular basis and even had two shows in London in 2010. The third album, Carbonsoul was released at the end of 2010. Style-wise, the recording is a continuation of the previous album: still present is the characteristic psychedelic techno space rock sound, this time expanded with new elements such as new wave, blues or turbo-polka. Titusz says: “This album is much more song-oriented than the one before. Balázs’s vocals have now taken centre-stage and we have new musical elements, but of course we have retained the typical Carbon-sound of psychedelic techno-rock. The concert, specially adapted to the Müpa stage, will also feature Adrienn Fehér, András Fehér, Gábor Fehér and Mátyás Premecz.
