A constant sense of being overloaded, the hopeless longing for calm, and the perpetual tension arising from it are familiar experiences to all of us – yet few people can shape these feelings into form as precisely as Bence Gyuris. As one of the defining figures of the Hungarian alternative hip-hop scene, the artist has been building his own musical universe since 2015, with constant features of his work including generational anxiety, burnout, the search for an identity, and starting over. The concert at Müpa Budapest marks another milestone along the artist’s gradual departure from trap, where this time, alongside a minimalist soundscape, classical piano and contemporary movement art also play a prominent role. In this interdisciplinary production, pianist Soma Balázs-Piri and contemporary dancer Bánk Bagyinszki also feature alongside gyuris.
