Its hard to imagine that it has been 15 years since Hófehér Jaguár became a hit. Besides this iconic song, the band United has a string of other hits to its name, including Keserű méz, Hárman párban, Hajnalban még a Nap is más, Nincs ősz, nincs tél and Végső vallomás… Hungarian fans only have to glance at the titles of the songs and they’ll start humming the familiar melodies which have been etched indelibly into their memories. The group aims to make this anniversary truly memorable for its audience with a one-off, unrepeatable concert experience. Alongside Barna Pély’s distinctive voice, the typical main feature of United's hits is the three-way interplay of backing vocals, strings and horns. This evening, these three roles will be filled by three sets of eight guest artists, making a grand total of 28 musicians taking the stage together – certainly a rare sight at a United concert. Naturally we’ll hear all the big United hits, as well as numerous other self-penned numbers delivered in the band’s customarily dynamic, high-energy performance style.
United is a professional group in the most literal sense of the word, its members devoting their energies exclusively to music. Graduates of the Franz Liszt Academy of Music, they teach in music schools and regularly help other Hungarian performers as composers, musical directors and producers. The band’s expertise and popular tunes certainly provide a guarantee of a high standard of musicianship at what promises to be a monumental, ecstatically entertaining evening.
