“Tales in Sand” – Csilla Szentpéteri with Ferenc Cakó’s live sand animations
31 October 2009 Saturday
7 pm - 9:30 pm
Béla Bartók National Concert Hall

Featuring: Janó Kormos, Dezső Straub – guitars, Balázs Szendőfi – bass guitar, József Czibere – percussion, Péter Szendőfi – drums Csilla Szentpéteri is preparing for her most extraordinary concert ever. The pianist has invited several guests to her magical performances of the past years, for example Péter Gerendás, Csaba Deseő, the Bolyki Brothers, Zoltán Lantos, Adrienn Zsédenyi, Ernő Wesely and many more. In 2003 she also included in her concert a unique Hungarian performance, a short sand animation show by the internationally acknowledged Ferenc Cakó. The two artists have now decided to team up for a large-scale production that will have a special, diverse musical atmosphere provided by Csilla Szentpéteri’s own compositions, her classical transcriptions and temperamental pieces in Latin style. Music and visualisation have long been associated in arts, as opera builds on visuals, silent films on musical accompaniment and popular music of our times on film clips. Associating music with animation is a further development of that creative line, what is more Ferenc Cakó is experimenting with a new technique that can now be seen live by the audience first time here. This performance grants guitars and fine rhythm a significant role besides the piano. A new, unusual concert experience will be provided by interwoven melodies, long unfolding fairy tale-like stories and exciting comic strips. (www.szentpetericsilla.hu, www.sandanimation.com)
