The Claudia Raquel Sextet’s music is built on a fusion on jazz and other music influences, with a significant emphasis on South American music – unsurprisingly given that the band’s singer is an authentic interpreter of the genre.
Claudia began her musical studies as a pianist. In 2015, she enjoyed an acclaimed performance on the Hungary’s Got Talent TV talent show, before in 2017 she was awarded third place at the Sanremo Junior International Festival. In the same year, she was accepted to study jazz vocals at the Béla Bartók Conservatory. In 2020, she was a finalist in the Young Jazz Musician of the Year competition, while in 2021 she earned third place at the Jazz Combo Contest with the Vilmos Oláh Quartet. She is currently a first-year student at the Liszt Academy, where she studies under Ágnes Lakatos and Orsolya Urbán. In addition to leading her own band, she plays an important role in Szakcsi Jr’s line-up Renaissance, with whom she performed in November 2023 at a concert honouring the memory of Béla Szakcsi Lakatos in the Béla Bartók National Concert Hall. János Egri Jr, who hails from a true musical dynasty and is also a Junior Prima award winner, has already performed at the Jazz Showcase,: first as a singer, then as a pianist in 2023. He has also won four special awards with his own trio. Géza Jónás and Tamás Fazekas are also returning performers in the up-and-coming groups of the Jazz Showcase. Sándor Erika Orsós was admitted to the Snétberger Music Talent Centre in 2015. In 2022, after graduating from the Premier High School of the Arts, he began studies at the Kőbánya Music Studio.
