Barnabás Négyessy Quartet:
Guitarist and composer Barnabás Négyessy completed his musical studies at the Béla Bartók Conservatory under the guidance of Bálint Gyémánt and Gábor Juhász before going on to study at the Graz University of Music. In the autumn of 2022, he formed his own quartet, which mainly plays his own compositions and his arrangements of popular numbers. Their songs are characterised by intimate, melancholic melodies interspersed with recurring livelier parts. They aim to combine different styles, which they organically shape into a uniquely homogeneous sound influenced by modern jazz, experimental free improvisation, rock, pop, minimalist contemporary music, and classical and folk sources. Their act offers an overview of both their work to date and their formative musical impressions.
