In this Müpa Budapest series, the actress and jazz singer Erika Náray, in addition to singing two or three songs herself on each occasion, chats with guest artists who share her passion for jazz. For the first programme of its second series, she'll be hosting Zorán, one of the pivotal figures of Hungarian popular music since the “Beat” movement hit the country in the early '60s. At first with the band Metró, and since 1976 as a solo singer, he has achieved more triumphs than could possibly be listed and continues to perform regularly at the age of 75. Who might his favourite jazz performers be? Are his tastes on the conservative side, or does he go with the trends? Has he been following the tremendous changes that have taken place in jazz over the half century of his career? What are his thoughts on free jazz and jazz fusion, and who are his favourite youngsters on the scene? Tonight, we'll find out the answers to these and many other questions.
Audience members will be able to take their seats in the Bohém Restaurant on a first-come, first-served basis from 6 pm, and can enjoy dinner before and after the concert.
