Semi-Final – Liszt Academy

The semi-final will be held on 5-6 October 2026, in Budapest, in the Grand Hall of the Liszt Academy, with the Hungarian Radio Symphony Orchestra as the collaborating ensemble. Ten competitors will advance to this stage of the competition, where their task is to conduct three works or excerpts in the following order: a Mozart aria, a Puccini aria, and a contemporary piece. The works to be conducted are also decided at random in this case.
The works to be conducted will be selected by random draw, with performances featuring Emőke Baráth, Csilla Boross, Mária Celeng, Barna Bartos, and Csaba Szegedi.

Mozart: The Marriage of Figaro – La Contessa, Recitativo and Aria “E Susanna non vien!” / “Dove sono i bei momenti”

2. Conducting Tasks:
Two contemporary symphonic orchestral works, 6-8 minutes in length, composed specifically for this occasion.
Admission to the semi-final concerts is free of charge, subject to prior registration. The procedure and conditions for registering will be announced soon.
