Featuring:
Having collaborated with jazz legends since the 1980s, he has now become a legend himself. The drummer, songwriter, and band leader Elemér Balázs made history with Trio Midnight and the Elemér Balázs Group, yet the Balázs story shows no sign of letting up. In this concert, he will be performing alongside family members and students to reveal the links between classical music and jazz. The backbone of the show will come from excerpts of the Junior Prima-winning Elemér Balázs’s composition Reflections on Goethe’s Faust. Elemér Balázs Jr and the clarinettist Dániel Ali Lugosi – the overall winner of the first series of the television talent contest Virtuózok – will offer an original, classical performance, but also venture into the challenging world of improvisation. The jazz trio formed by the Balázs brothers and Krisztián “Pecek” Lakatos will then use their own musical toolkit to reflect on the material.
