It is precisely for this reason that we will open Müpa Budapest's virtual concert hall and auditoriums - each night at the familiar times - by providing access to a single unforgettable performance from past years.

The Tamás Bolyki Quartet was formed a year ago by musicians accustomed to playing with each other in various ensembles at the Béla Bartók Conservatory. Their ever-expanding repertoire consists of their own numbers, which take on their final forms by introducing as many different musical directions as possible to build atop jazz foundations. The line-up's sound is made diverse by the appeal to the various members of different styles and unified by their friendly personal relationships.
Tamás Bolyki himself grew up in a musical family; after his classical training, he mastered the foundations of jazz guitar from Attila Rieger. He later went on to specialise in the instrument at the Bartók Conservatory under the guidance of Gábor Juhász and Bálint Gyémánt. Born in Sepsiszentgyörgy (Sfântu Gheorghe) in Transylvania, Norbert Bejan also grew up in a musical environment and later studied at the Bartók Conservatory with Tibor Márkus, Richárd Révész, Máté Pozsár and Áron Tálas. He is currently completing his education at the Liszt Academy under the guidance of Károly Binder. István Siklai studied at the Snétberger Music Talent Centre and the Kőbánya Music Studio; he is a core member of the Ákos Fekecs Project and the group Ruby Harlem. Adonisz Fábry was taught by Tamás Gerüly at the Bartók Conservatory and is currently studying at the Liszt Academy, with György Jeszenszky and Attila Gyárfás as his principal teachers.
In 2019, the quartet took first place at the Hungarian Jazz Federation's Jazz Combo Competition, with Tamás Bolyki's own song Expose winning the award for best composition. After the competition, they received invitations to such venues as the Paloznak Jazz Picnic, the Debrecen Wine and Jazz Days festival, the Celebration of Hungarian Jazz and Hungarian Radio's Marble Hall with their first own thematic concert programme, titled GPS.
