The Reggie Jonas Jr. Trio is a returning guest at the Colour Concerts hosted by Müpa Budapest. The band leader, Rezső Jónás has already been heard at the Jazz Showcase in 2019 as a member of the Mordent Quintet, but he now makes his debut as the leader of his own band. He started composing at an early age, and his first serious compositions were performed with Gábor Bolla, Krisztián Pecek Lakatos and Elemér Balázs. His composition Platform C, written for a small jazz ensemble, was awarded a prize at the Müpa Budapest Music Composition Competition 2020.

Born in 1998, Rezső Jónás began his musical studies in classical piano at the Béla Bartók Secondary School of Music, and was later admitted as a special talent to the Royal Academy of Music in London, where he studied jazz piano. He later went on to study under Béla Szakcsi Lakatos Jr. and then János Nagy at the Etűd Conservatory. In 2019, he received the Dezső Ablakos Lakatos Scholarship as a student at the Liszt Academy and was invited by Attila László to contribute to the recording of his latest album. He graduated from the jazz department of the Liszt Academy in 2020 and is currently studying for a master's degree. He has been teaching at the Harmonia Primary Music School for two years now. The rhythm section of the Reggie Jonas Jr. Trio are two brothers who may share the bandleader's surname too, but are not actually related to him. They are, however, just as talented. In 2013, Géza Jónás was admitted to the Snétberger Music Talent Centre, and in 2014 he was awarded a special prize at the International Student Jazz Competition in Târgu Mures as a member of the János Egri Jr. Quartet. Playing with Fülöp as a member of the Balázs Horváth Trio, they closed the Jazz 0820 event in the Glass Hall.

This event is presented in association with the Hungarian Jazz Federation, the Zemplén Festival and the Budapest Music Center.
