Singer Ilka Kisgyörgy left behind her profession as a building engineer in her native Transylvania to come to Budapest, where she is currently a student in the jazz department of the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music. Although she feels closest to free and experimental forms of jazz, in addition to the traditional sound, many other musical genres have had an influence on her, including alternative, electronic, experimental, avant garde, contemporary, folk and popular music. The first line-up she has started herself, Landing Venus uses the singer's own compositions as its musical starting point, creating opportunities for free improvisation as Ilka explores the capabilities of the human voice without artificial enhancement.
