The Damján Ocsovay Trio was founded in 2021. Their repertoire consists mainly of original compositions and arrangements. Their unique musical style draws on various trends and genres. The harmonic world of jazz serves as their cornerstone and is interspersed with hip-hop, funk, and sometimes surprising elements and interesting musical twists, all set to dynamic grooves. For them, it is the energy of playing together that makes the experience complete.

Pianist, singer and composer Damján Ocsovay was born in Szekszárd, where he began his classical piano studies. His music-loving family brought him into contact with a wide range of musical styles, including jazz, which he began to teach himself. After his secondary school years, he continued his career in Budapest, where he appeared in several bands both as a guest and a permanent member. He has worked with Ferenc Snétberger, Tony Lakatos and Vera Tóth, among others. He started singing on his own initiative a few years ago and is currently a jazz student at the Liszt Academy. He is a member of SoLaTi, the Dániel Ferenc Szabó Quartet and many other Hungarian bands. In 2021, on the Day of Hungarian Jazz, he was the first to receive the Louis Armstrong - Hungarian Jazz Talent Award.
Damján's two bandmates, bassist Tamás Heilig and drummer Levente Boros, are sought-after participants in the Hungarian underground and hip-hop scene; their unique and elegant playing styles make the trio's sound complete.

This event is presented in association with the Hungarian Jazz Federation, the Zemplén Festival and the Budapest Music Center.
