Jazz talent exchange - Cymbal Rush
5 February 2017, Sunday
3 pm - 3:50 pm
Atrium
Produced by Müpa Budapest

Now organised for the tenth year by Müpa Budapest, the Jazz Showcase is firmly established as the Central and Eastern Europe region's most important jazz talent exchange. Just as last year, the youngsters will be able to compare their skills before an invited international jury, who will judge them on their talent and innovative artistic vision. The productions deemed most original and exciting will be rewarded with further opportunities to perform thanks to collaborations between Müpa Budapest, the Hungarian Jazz Federation and a number of festivals. We also continue to value the opinions of the jazz fans in the audience: The audience prize-winner from performers on the three days will be invited back to perform at Müpa Budapest before too long.

One of the most promising singers of her generation, Petra Kész has over the years appeared in an extremely wide range of ensembles creating music in a likewise extremely wide range of genres, from trip-hop to hard-bop. With all this experience, the Ferenc Liszt Music Academy graduate student felt that the time had come to start a band for performing her own compositions. Along with Cymbal Rush, Petra is also currently the singer for Crème de la pop and the Junior Prima Award-winning Tárkány Művek.
