He soon began giving concerts in Hungary and also Prague, Warsaw, Ljubljana and Berlin. His first record was released in one-time West Germany in 1974 with the title Four String Tschaba and was a collaboration between German, British and Swedish musicians. In the seventies and eighties he released a further three solo albums on the Hungarian Hungaroton label. Csaba Deseő regularly worked with the greats of Hungarian jazz such as guitarists Gábor Szabó and Andor Kovács, vibraphone player Richárd Kruza, drummer Imre Kőszegi and pianist László Gárdonyi. He was also a guest in international productions with Jean-Luc Ponty, Zbigniew Seifert, John Lewis and Martin Drew as well as a resident soloist with the Zagreb vibraphone player Boško Petrović’s group. He has been active giving concerts since the change of system as well: primarily he plays jazz, swing and his own compositions. In parallel to his career in jazz, in 1967 he joined the Hungarian State Concert Orchestra where he played for more than three decades. For his birthday concert, along with his usual musical partners, he has invited a favourite friend from part collaborations, one of the finest vibraphone players in Europe, Dutchman Hein de Jong.
