Bernstein – Jazz Side Story Symphonic
Nikoletta Szőke, Bálint Gájer & the Danubia Orchestra
1 September 2024, Sunday
8 pm - 10 pm
Béla Bartók National Concert Hall
Produced by Müpa Budapest
JazzTime

The first edition of Jazz Side Story led to two consecutive sold-out shows at the Festival Theatre in 2018. Now, Nikoletta Szőke, Bálint Gájer and their musical associates are raising the stakes. They will perform eternal Bernstein compositions at the Béla Bartók National Concert Hall alongside Kornél Fekete-Kovács-led Danubia Orchesta and a selection of jazz brass musicians, ensuring a fuller sound and elegantly powerful performance, halfway between classical music and jazz. Bernstein is always thrilling: one week after the 106th anniversary of his birth, nine months after the premiere of the influential film about his life – always.
