The Albert Horváth Quartet formed in 2020. What binds its members together is their love of the same music and genres. Close to their hearts, along with jazz, is funk, and they spice these both up with a bit of neo-soul and R&B. The 21-year-old Albert Horváth first started to develop an interest in music in 2011. At the Béni Egressy High School of Music, it was Béla Szakcsi Lakatos Jr who smoothed his path forward for him, and he is currently a student of Kálmán Oláh's at the Liszt Academy.
At the Third National Dezső Lakatos Ablakos Jazz Competition, Horváth took second place in the solo category and first place in the group one. And then in 2020, the Hungarian Jazz Federation selected him the exclusive winner of the Young Jazz Musician of the Year award. Miklós Mackó is 23 years old and was born in the Subcarpathian town of Ilosva (Irshava). He started his music studies in Ungvár (Uzhhorod), playing piano, and switched to guitar eight years later. At the Kőbánya Music Studio, he was taught by Gyula Babos and Ferenc Tornóczky. He is a member of the Gerappa Party Band and the Sage Acoustic Duo, and took part in productions by the Palladio Orchestra. He has also played guitar on several television programmes. Gábor Pál was born in 1999 in the Transylvanian city of Sepsiszentgyörgy (Sfântu Gheorghe). After eight years of playing piano, he switched to the bass guitar. He studied under Tibor Csuhaj-Barna at the Béla Bartók Conservatory and under Béla Lattmann at the Liszt Academy. In 2019, at a competition run by the Hungarian Jazz Federation, he won the Best Soloist award. He is a permanent member of the bands led by Attila Kökény, Gyula Éliás Jr and Eszter Hász. Benjámin Centgraf has been drumming since the age of six. After starting out with classical training, he studied at the Béla Bartók Conservatory under Csaba Pusztai, who prepared him for admission to the Liszt Academy, where he earned his degree in 2016. He has worked as a session musician in an extremely diverse range of productions.
