Featuring:
Carlos Saura is not strictly an ‘opera director’, but he did direct Carmen in 1983. In a flamenco style. That’s only right, Saura knows everything there is to know about flamenco. (He is also a natural when it comes to tango.) But just to be clear: Mozart does not dance in this film. Not least because he is not the main protagonist of I, Don Giovanni, that honour goes to Lorenzo Da Ponte, who wrote the librettos to 28 operas (for 11 composers), among which we will find The Marriage of Figaro, Don Giovanni and Cosi fan tutte. Librettists rarely become superstars, yet Saura was captivated by Lorenzo Da Ponte’s exciting life story. His film – shot by cinematographer Vittorio Storaro – paints an utterly compelling, vibrant picture of an era in which Salieri and even Casanova pop up alongside Mozart.
In the original language, with Hungarian subtitles.
The discussions before and after the screening will be conducted in Hungarian.

Férfias gesztusok
A klasszikus balettrepertoár is bővelkedik olyan férfialakokban, akik nem csupán „kellékek” a színpadon.

Az operai sármnak számtalan arca van, lássuk most a legelterjedtebb típusokat!

A bűvös szoknyavadász
