Zsombor Tóth-Vajna is an outstandingly talented member of the young Hungarian generation of artists dedicated to the historically informed performance of early music, both as a conductor and a specialist in early keyboard instruments, playing the organ, harpsichord, fortepiano and clavichord. He completed his studies at Budapest’s Liszt Academy and the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. For his Christmas organ concert, he invites the audience to join him in the world of Buxtehude, Bach and Lübeck Abendmusik. The programme for the evening features works by Johann Sebastian Bach and Dietrich Buxtehude, whom Bach admired and sought to emulate: these consist of organ compositions and cantatas also featuring the Harmonia Caelestis Baroque Orchestra, the Capella Columbae Vocal Ensemble and some outstanding soloists.
