Symphony No. 2 in D major, op. 73

Even Brahms will be in a good mood this evening! While many find fault with the German master’s gloominess, a friend wrote that his Second Symphony was “all rippling streams, blue sky, sunshine and cool green shadows.” Mozart’s sense of humour and joie de vivre continue to make millions of people’s lives happier every day. We invite you to a colourful and cheerful evening in May with two sparkling works by Mozart, a scherzo that will seem quite novel to many, and the aforementioned Brahms symphony.
