May I upload a video recording that is older than 12 months as part of the application materials?
Yes. Compared to the original announcement, this requirement has been slightly adjusted, and it is now possible to apply with recordings that are more than 12 months old. However, whenever possible, we kindly ask applicants to submit the most recent recordings available.
What is the required length of the video recording to be submitted with the application?
Compared to the original announcement, this requirement has been slightly adjusted. The length of the recordings should ideally be a minimum of 7 minutes and a maximum of 10 minutes each; excerpts from works or movements are also acceptable.
Which musical periods should the uploaded recordings represent?
Compared to the original announcement, this requirement has been slightly adjusted. The works to be heard on the recordings should preferably come from two different periods of music history, or from two different stylistic eras (Baroque, Viennese Classical, Romantic, 20th century, contemporary). It is important that applicants demonstrate their skills in different styles as well.
