Jazz Spring
8–10 May 2026
Now running for more than two decades, Jazz Spring always sets its standards high: for the 22nd time, the festival will be offering up the most delectable treats in the genre. On Friday and Sunday at the Festival Theatre, visitors can delight in the music of the future, and conclude that this future is dazzlingly bright. On Saturday, in the Béla Bartók National Concert Hall, a new chapter of a quarter-century success story will be unveiled, one interwoven with Hungarian threads.
On the 8th, the soothing voice of Michael Mayo will sweep us away on the wings of jazz and neo-soul. His album Fly strikes an eternally sincere tone, and he is nothing short of an irresistible presence when performing live.
Mayo was but eight years old when Electro Deluxe, the band performing on Saturday at the Béla Bartók National Concert Hall, was formed in Paris. Guaranteed to deliver a captivating live experience, Electro Deluxe will electrify the audience supported by the brass section of the BJC Big Band.
Sunday’s performer, the Indian bassist Mohini Dey, will also feature a Hungarian collaborator, namely, keyboardist Dániel Szebényi, as they elevate fusion jazz to new heights.
