Five years after he retired as a classical singer, the legendary baritone returns with an amazing jazz programme, proving he is still full of curiosity and inspiration. He selects from the songs of his favourite soul, pop and blues singers.

Thomas Quasthoff always had a soft spot for jazz, being as interested in Schubert's Winterreise as in the most popular songs of the Great American Songbook, the compositions of George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Irving Berlin and Jerome Kern.

Recently he surprised his audience at the Vienna Opera with a Frank Sinatra song, bringing the house down. Next day, a reviewer was of the opinion that Quasthoff could sing anything and still be certain to reveal the deepest depths and hypnotic poetic heights.
