Bálint Gájer is getting ready for another one of his big Christmas concerts. Now for the fourth time, the Béla Bartók National Concert Hall will ring with the best-known Christmas carols as performed by the ‘Duke of Swing'. His first grand Advent concert six years ago in front of an audience of two thousand people coincided with the release of his Hungarian-language album Swing Karácsony (‘Swing Christmas').
Let It Snow, White Christmas, Santa Claus Is Coming to Town, Last Christmas - all familiar tunes for the general public, but rarely are they heard sung in Hungarian. On this festive evening, the repertoire will be expanded to include alongside the material from Swing Karácsony a rich selection of new arrangements and his own new songs. The singer's ten-member band, supplemented by a chamber string orchestra, will provide the classic atmosphere of an American Christmas. Gájer's illustrious guest, the much-loved singer-actress Andrea Malek, has received numerous major Hungarian awards and recognitions.
