BRIDGING EUROPE 2018 - The Baltics and Poland

Despite the young ages of the members of the two bands, both groups have achieved enormous success both at home and abroad, making increasingly frequent appearances at international clubs and festivals. While their performance styles are very different, both bands mix a variety of styles and moods, ranging from delicate emotion to something a little more raucous, and featuring both acoustic and electronic instrumentation.
Sus Dungo, who have been referred to as fairies of indie pop, have become a special and 'fairy tale' phenomenon on the independent music scene in Latvia. The group plays their own songs, full of spontaneity and freshness and containing elements of folk music. All of the members of the group sing, while also playing the accordion, the recorder, the flute, drums, the electric guitar and various plucked string instruments. Their first album was released in 2012, winning the Latvian Golden Microphone for best debut album. The album was originally released in the Lithuanian language, but they later took the opportunity to re-record it in English after achieving international success.
The quality and diversity of the Lithuanian group Golden Parazyth is highlighted by the fact that they have played international concerts alongside a range of artists from Lana Del Rey, Underworld and Hurts to Gusgus, Rhye and Nicolas Jaar. The group's first album from 2005, Apartment of Steel, is already considered a classic in Lithuania. Their first album's darker electronic sound has matured over the years into something much richer, featuring an acoustic guitar, elements of neo-folk and the addition of new musicians to the original two-man band. The changes led to them saw them gain popularity outside of the alternative-underground scene, with their songs regularly played on the radio and attracting international attention.
