Bridging Europe 2016 - French Days at Müpa Budapest

Belle du Berry, the Algerian Potzi and François Jeannin started playing together in the early '90s at the Les Champêtres de Joie "retro review”. Later on, the cosmopolitan Parisian night had them bump into Australian David Lewis and Madagascaran Mano Razanajato, and thus Paris Combo was formed in 1995. They incorporated everything that had a decisive impact on them: from 1930s cabaret to Django Reinhardt-style gypsy swing to Latin rhythms. Of course, they they then wove these diverse influences together with inimitable French grace and their singular performance style, and soon enough were emerging from the "underground” independent music scene on the wings of the swing revival of the '90s. Paris Combo had arrived to stay, both inside and outside France.
São Paulo, Istanbul, Berlin, Los Angeles, Sydney - wherever they've gone, they've swept the audience off of their feet. And in the meantime, their albums have appeared one after the other: Paris Combo, Living Room, Attraction, Motifs and 5. Following a four-year hiatus that started in 2007, they resumed their march of triumph with a new double bassist - Emmanuel Chabbey - and also have a new album appearing this summer. So, it's no hoax: at the height of their success, power and creative energies, Paris Combo is coming to Müpa Budapest.
