The fraternal duo of Domokos and Ágoston Lázár, known from their work with alt-rock group Esti Kornél and the minimal pop act Pegazusok Nem Léteznek, released their first LP, titled Hullámtörés, (‘Crashing Waves') in the autumn of 2020. The follow-up to this album of melancholy and minimalistically arranged acoustic songs is coming out this autumn, with a launch that will give the audience a glimpse into an intimate, honest and authentic world.
The Lázár brothers' debut album, which explores the themes of young adulthood, not without some nostalgic overtones, was first presented as part of the Müpa Home concert series, which makes it fitting that Müpa Budapest will also host the Budapest premiere of the second as well, this time with a live audience. Retaining their characteristic intimate and familiar atmosphere, they now focus on the deeper layers of the songs and the complexity of the human soul, which nevertheless surface in clear and simple forms. All of this will be reflected at the concert in the way that the pair scrutinise the simplicity of existence and human life, but with modern forms merged into the distant past: adult life and the reality of our era in time revealed to the audience hidden in retrospective, dream-like guises. Reinforcing this deeply personal world are the visual elements specially conceived for this show and the other artists taking the stage with the brothers, all both outstanding instrumentalists and close friends of theirs. Of them, Márk Csernovszky is a graduate of the Liszt Academy, where Áron Rátkay is currently studying, while Janka Porkoláb is training at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. Like the younger lads, Hunor G. Szabó, a veteran of the Qualitons and many other groups, hails from the town of Mezőtúr, where he served as a childhood role model for them. Ákos Balog, another Mezőtúr native, has been one of their best friends since youth and the formation of Esti Kornél in 2006.
