Vladimir Kostadinović has come a long way since being introduced to the Hungarian audience as a young talent at the 2013 Jazz Showcase. The Serbian drum ace recorded his brand-new album in New York with contributions from Chris Potter, Geoffrey Keezer, Ben Wendel, Joe Locke, Alex Sipiagin and Matt Brewer. The record, entitled IRIS, received enthusiastic reviews in the international press, with critics praising Kostadinović’s virtuosic yet emotionally rich drumming and his refined compositional talent. He will present material from IRIS on the Jazz Showcase stage with his European quartet. As part of the Serbian cultural season, the Jazz Showcase, now expanding regionally, sees Kostadinović representing not only his homeland, but also the Central-Eastern European region, as he will be joined by Jaka Kopač from Slovenia, alongside Alan and Štefan Bartuš from Slovakia.
