The keyboard player for Blahalouisiana, who might also be familiar from the Black Circle Orchestra, Pénzes Máté released his first solo album in 2023 with each song featuring a different musician friend and role model – from Tibor Tátrai to János Solti. In the same year, he formed the band Pénzes Máté and Zseb, which paid homage to the legendary 50-year-old LGT album, the 1973 release Bummm!, by covering it in full. The band’s first album of original songs will be entitled Az első igazi, and be presented here at Müpa Budapest. The evening will comprise two parts: following the classic soul-funk-blues vein characteristic of the band, we arrive in a much deeper, more dramatic world, where – through well-known and lesser-known “blue” songs, moods, and a touch of literature – we explore new depths and heights.
