Jamie Winchester & Róbert Hrutka
“Wood & Strings”
9 December 2007, Sunday
6:30 pm - 9 pm
Béla Bartók National Concert Hall

Jamie Winchester and Róbert Hrutka have been making music together for ten years in Hungary. Audiences will have seen them in various bands and they are also known in the world of film and commercials. They first entered public consciousness in 2001 with Robi’s composition It’s Your Life. After they released their second album, they began concentrating on acoustic instruments: they gave an unplugged concert at the Millennáris Theatre in 2004 entitled Woods & Strings and it was a huge success. They continued their series of acoustic concerts, with equal if not even greater success in April 2005 and February 2006 at the Béla Bartók National Concert Hall. This year, they have prepared a similarly ambitious programme that promises sophisticated enjoyment. At this unique Christmas mood concert, friends of the band will appear such as actress Anikó Für who has released her own CD, Vera Schmidt who is famous for her marvellous voice from Megastar, and János Rudolf Tóth, who wrote songs for the true blues legend Hobó and was one of the four gangsters in the great cartoon Cat city. Péter Wolf will again conduct the Mendelssohn Chamber Orchestra, raising the profile of the evening yet further. And to make it richer still, Jamie Winchester and Róbert Hrutka welcome the ÉgÍgérő Gospel Chorus.
