After establishing a remarkable career over the past decade and with their fifth album coming out in 2021, the other four being English-language works, Ivan & The Parazol are now singing in Hungarian at last, and not only that: their material in Budai Pop is also connected to a book, in which the new songs come to life in short stories by fiction writers. In 2016, the band paid tribute to a legendary Hungarian prog jazz formation, Syrius, at a Müpa Budapest concert. As a continuation of that great evening, they will now present their unique Budai Pop Suite with a new concept and additional Syrius songs.

The Hommage à Syrius - Budai Pop Suite concert rethinks the concept of that high-profile evening from five years ago and offers a show that is renewed in terms of both its ideas and its stage set. Founded in 2010, Ivan & The Parazol quickly became one of the most popular bands in the Hungarian rock music scene, one of the emblematic ensembles of the decade, always looking for the next level to reach, and skilfully building its career across national borders as well. At the same time, in their music and attitude, they have always professed and sustained the roots of Hungarian pop music, as well as the influence of beat, psychedelia and funk rock music, and the inspiration they've taken from many other bands, including the progressive rock-jazz formation Syrius. With their fifth album released this summer, the band has finally followed in the footsteps of their great and heroic Hungarian predecessors of the '60s and '70s - and not only because of the Hungarian lyrics - making it a truly stylish way to once again strongly evoke the spirit of the era with this two-movement new show. In addition to the Syrius songs they have already played, there will be some that they have not played before, but the renewed concept still resonates with the same freedom of rock and roll as Ivan and the Parazols' entire journey so far.
