NEW ORLEANS SWING FESTIVAL

The Group'n'Swing band has been together for ten years and plays music you can party to. These experienced jazz musicians are at home in the worlds of swing, traditional big band jazz and boogie. It's may be dancing music, but even for those who prefer to remain seated the vocal and instrumental solos and striking arrangement solutions provide a truly exceptional experience.
The band's debut album Swing Till I Die was released in 2010, while three years later their Scandal! album made a real splash, winning the Phonogram prize as "Entertainment Album of the Year”, and 2015 saw the release of their third record, Now Be a Man! In the meantime the whole of Hungary had gotten to know Réká Mihályi and her smart-looking, immensely talented young band mates through the song Retikül, which made it to the semi-finals of the national song competition before later becoming the theme tune to the similarly-named TV show. In 2013 they brought their spectacular show to the New Orleans Swing Festival with a performance at the Festival Theatre. At that time Bálint Gájer was still the group's male singer, but on this occasion the audience will have the pleasure of watching and listening to Bálint Magyar in the role.
For this year's festival opener the ten-member band will be accompanied by the sizeable 25-member Bolyki Soul & Gospel Choir, who will be singing out those popular G'n'S tunes like never before. The choir has been together for six years, singing with passion and resounding vitality, lead and trained in his own inimitable style by the Prima-prize winning Bolyki Balázs. Their success is a direct result of their determination, while their leader has outstanding experience as the frontman of the Bolyki Brothers, working with the nine-times Grammy winner Kirk Franklin, and has also provided invaluable assistance to the local music scene.
