Crazy About Jazz

After Forbes magazine first included her in 2016, the art collector and art historian Judit Virág was once again listed as the fourth most influential woman on the Hungarian cultural scene last year. She was the first female auctioneer in Hungary. Having initially shown impressive talent for running auctions for others.

She worked as an art historian in the Kiscelli Museum, before taking a step that would define her entire life from then on: she moved to work as a painting appraiser in 1988 at the Műgyüjtők Gallery (Art Collectors Gallery), one of the first private galleries in Hungary. She opened her first gallery on Pasaréti Road, when the art trade was still in its infancy in Hungary. In 1997 she founded the Judit Virág Gallery and the Auction House together with her husband István Törő, which primarily deals with 19th and 20th century Hungarian paintings and Zsolnay ceramics. The Judit Virág Gallery regularly holds non-profit events to introduce Hungarian painting, with free-to-visit exhibits. The gallery's incredibly popular, large-scale exhibitions have presented some masterpieces uncovered after several years of research in various private collections to the general public. in recent years, their two most successful exhibitions were Berlin-Budapest and Paris-Budapest, which presented the artistic relationships between the three cities. The exhibits are presented alongside an exclusive album. Judit Virág has held more than 200 auctions in her life, and countless auction records have been set in her gallery.

Audience members, who will be able to take their seats at the Bohemian Event Venue on a first-come, first-served basis from 6 pm, receive a welcome drink and can enjoy dinner before or after the concert.
