Hey, June!

"We write film music for films that don't exist.” In concert, Elefánt flash up snippets from films imagined to accompany their music. Their familiar songs are performed with ‘more cinematic' instrumentation, and they also present their own particular world visually. As we listen to their songs, stories interwoven with subtle irony slip past before our eyes. The music alternates between upbeat rhythms and a slow meditative pace, with a release punk energy on occasion. This blend of styles together evokes a waltz that embraces the chanson ambiance with a vigorous momentum. Their songs are made unique by their creative musical innovations and peculiar lyrics.
The band, together since 2011, first appeared in association with Kodály Method before releasing the Kék Szoba EP and the Vérkeringő album. The song Alszik, from their second LP, was nominated for a Fonogram award, and the album topped the Hungarian Deezer charts for ten days. Balaton Method, a film to showcase the world of Hungarian underground music, opens with their song Bordahajtogató. Their third LP, Minden, was released in 2017. The videos they created for their songs received more than 1,000 shares in a single day. They consider the opportunity to perform at Müpa Budapest to be an exciting challenge as it requires the band to adapt its songs to an unfamiliar environment. This has been a very inspiring process that has released a great deal of creative energy from within them.
