Anima Sound System
16 November 2016 Wednesday
8 pm - 9:45 pm
Béla Bartók National Concert Hall
MR SYMPHONIC FROM MÜPA BUDAPEST

Anima Sound System, the first Hungarian electronic dance band, winner of numerous awards – including the Golden Giraffe, the Fonogram Award and the VIVA Comet – has had audiences dancing for 23 years now, but is now taking the stage together with a symphony orchestra for the first time. The ensemble, which has appeared in nearly capital in Europe, is know for blistering atmosphere of its concerts and its artistic boldness. Periodically, it is able to renew itself and give up the old familiar patterns and start completely afresh, while at the same time managing to remain, in concert, an entertaining pop band addressing many different generations. The special feature of its productions, with their constantly shifting styles, is and was primarily the playfulness, the colourful fabric of the music, and the combination of styles: modern electronic dance music, reggae and dub, hip hop and pop, traditional songs and musical experimentation, Transylvania Hungarian and Jewish folk music and loads of radio and video hits ('68, Put The Sunshine Into My Mouth!, Make a Child !).
The band's current lead singer, Fanni Prieger, was only a small girl when she sang Anima's music video hit Tekerd! 12 years ago; however, this concert will be the last time she appears in Anima colours for some time.
