Alma Bencze Quintet:

vocals Alma Bencze
saxophone Dániel Mester
piano László Vörös
double bass Ádám Bögöthy
drums Zsolt Kovács

Alma Bencze, a woman with a wonderful, passionate singing voice, and her quintet will bring the most wonderful evergreen numbers from American jazz to the audience of the ice rink outdoor stage, filling songs we have known for decades and listened to many times with new life and approaching them from a new direction as familiar melodies fill the air with Christmas cheer.

Alma began her career relatively late. She was 26 years old when she took her first singing lesson. After making a successful start, her private life took priority as she had two children. It is testament to her talent that after having her second child she sent a demo to the owner of the legendary 606 Club, who immediately invited her to London. Her debut at the club was a huge success. The saxophonist in her new quintet is the remarkably versatile Dániel Mester, who is also an excellent composer and arranger. Pianist László Vörös has also visited the 606 Club, as well as being a member of his sister Niki Vörös's successful quintet and of the Red Stones band founded by Richárd Szaniszló. With Ádám Bögöthy, one of the most sought-after Hungarian musicians on bass and Zsolt Kovács on drums, we can be sure of an exciting evening. Alma and Ádám also form the AlmAcoustic Duo in which the latter plays the acoustic guitar. Their repertoire extends from jazz to bossa nova and from blues to pop.
