Platinum level members of the Müpa+ membership programme can buy tickets for the event on 29 September from 10 am, at the Gold level on 30 September from 10 am, and at the Silver level on 1 October from 10 am. Basic level members, as well as members of the general public will get the opportunity to purchase tickets from 10 am on 2 October.

The year of the film’s release is slightly misleading: it was shot in 1990, but only reached cinemas in 1992. In other words, Slap-Jack was made in the whirlwind of the regime change, and it is a rare piece in that it shows almost the very moment of the transformation – through a distorted lens. And this thoroughly unromantic comedy quietly asks some very tough questions. How are we going to live side by side? Who will be dealing the cards? Those who struck the blows – or those who were beaten? Will we be able to cast off our rather unfashionable uniforms? Is the past still simmering away in an underground training base? Will we ever be able to free ourselves from movement songs stuck on broken records? Will we make peace over mama’s chicken soup? The years have passed, and all this has taken on a retro hue. But if we do not allow ourselves to be lulled by Workers’ Militia nostalgia and wedding-band music, the questions still remain: what do we do to one another when, even if only symbolically, the ground begins to shake?
