Dance knows no boundaries – either geographical, or metaphorical. Let’s begin with geography: three celebrated, legendary ensembles are coming to perform at Müpa Budapest’s 20th birthday programme series from three different corners of Hungary. As for content: the audience will be transported back in time 60 years for a renewed version of an iconic performance from Ballet Pécs, Az iszonyat balladája (The Ballad of Monstrosity), which premiered in 1961. Ballet Company of Győr will push the boundaries further, with a glimpse from outer space at Earth’s bizarre, restless residents. Then Szeged Contemporary Dance Company opens up the realm of imagination and fantasy to the melodies of Bolero, which have been heard countless times, yet always reveal new secrets. A journey through time, space and the world that surrounds us, a unique event with three unmissable contemporary dance productions!
