Saint-Saëns

Symphony No. 3 in C minor, Op. 78

Orff

Carmina Burana

Two monumental masterpieces in one evening: Camille Saint-Saëns’s breathtaking organ symphony and Carl Orff’s overpowering Carmina Burana. This encounter between French Romanticism and the rhythm-driven music of the 20th century promises a sensual and highly suggestive experience. This grandiose concert features a massive orchestra, large choruses and a collection of fine soloists that includes Zita Szemere, Gergely Biri and Máté Fülep, as well as Dénes Harmath on organ. The event is also a celebratory gala in honour of conductor Antal Mátyás’s 80th birthday and will serve as a fitting tribute to his illustrious career.

Presented by: Szent István Philharmonic
