The American tenor was named Singer of the Year 2017 both by International Opera Awards and Bachtrack. The Guardian called him the world's leading bel canto singer, and critics and audiences worldwide are convinced his timbre and the expressive power of his singing are perfectly suited for the Romantic operas of Rossini and Donizetti. The New York Times thinks he may usher in a new golden age of high male voices. He sings in the world's leading opera houses, and as a concert singer, he tours the world with a special programme (Cycles of My Being), singing about how he sees the life of an African American man in today's America.
His partner on his Budapest concert will be Chinese tenor Yijie Shi, whose tremendous success defies his young age, and who also feels most at home in the world of Romantic bel canto.

This concert of the Budapest Spring Festival is presented by Müpa Budapest.
