The Latvian Kristine Opolais is one of the brightest singer stars of the past decade, who sings at the world's leading opera houses and has a penchant for Puccini. She has appeared at the Staatsoper in Vienna, the Staatsoper Berlin, the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, the Zurich Opera House, the Covent Garden in London, and the Metropolitan Opera in New York. Her performances at the latter venue were streamed live to the delight of opera lovers the world over. Also, she has a historic achievement to her name: in 2014 she sang her debut in two roles with only 18 hours between them.
Covent Garden is also close to her heart, where she sang the title role of Tosca in the 2018/2019 season, making The Telegraph call her "the leading Puccini soprano of today.”
The singer has appeared in concert with some of the world's foremost conductors and orchestras, at the Salzburg Festival, the BBC Proms, the Tanglewood Festival, the Musikverein in Vienna, and Carnegie Hall.

This concert of the Budapest Spring Festival is presented by Müpa Budapest.
