One of the most important vocal performers active today, Juan Diego Flórez was ranked by the BBC as one of the finest tenors of all time. The singer was only 23 years old when he made his debut at the La Scala season opener. Ever since, he has been a recurring guest at the world’s most prestigious opera houses, achieving remarkable success in bel canto roles and in the operas of Mozart. Recent years have seen him expand his repertoire to include works by Verdi, Gounod, Massenet and Puccini. Flórez is the kind of opera singer who charms the audience not only with his singular technique, but also with his intense stage presence and acting. Joining him for his aria concert will be the Hungarian State Opera Orchestra, playing under the baton of his regular partner, Christopher Franklin.
