Vincenzo Bellini’s final opera is a veritable apotheosis of bel canto that should only be presented to an audience with performers displaying impeccable technique and stylistic sensibilities. The MET’s new production, directed by Charles Edwards, promises just such an extraordinary line-up as the improbably high vocal parts are to be delivered with effortless mastery by virtuosos like Lisette Oropesa and Lawrence Brownlee. Alongside these two stellar American bel canto specialists, Artur Ruciński, a Polish baritone with an exceptional presence will shine in delivering several operatic hits in a performance conducted by Marco Armiliato, renowned for his remarkable rapport with singers.

The broadcast will be sung in the original language, and shown with Hungarian and English subtitles.

The ‘Metropolitan Opera Live in HD’ transmissions have been made possible through the cooperation of our partner, liveincinema.eu s.r.o.
