People magazine once suggested that Eliane Elias does more to shore up international relations than the UN. This pianist, singer, composer and arranger with several Grammies and Latin Grammies to her name has created a unique and instantly recognisable musical world by fusing jazz and Brazilian music. As a testament to the popularity of this style, she has sold 2.5 million albums worldwide, some of them chart-toppers. Some 12 years after her last visit, she is now returning to Müpa Budapest for a concert featuring material from her latest album, the Grammy-nominated Time and Again, released in 2024, along with various other bossa nova, samba and jazz hits. Sensual, sophisticated and infinitely elegant, her style effortlessly captivates listeners through an experience also shaped in large measure by her quartet, which includes her husband and invaluable partner, the double bassist Marc Johnson.
