The Metropolitan Opera: Live in HD 2015/16
Two operas by Verdi, three by Puccini, and one each by Donizetti, Bizet, Wagner, Richard Strauss and Alban Berg make up the total of 10 works featured in the 10th series of Live in HD broadcasts from the New York Metropolitan Opera in the 2015/16 season. The new jubilee season offers six new Met productions to an audience of millions in almost 70 countries participating in the programme.
The first in Hungary to screen the broadcasts, Müpa Budapest created the state-of-the-art technical conditions in the Festival Theatre and Lecture Hall through which the performances can truly be enjoyed in their full glory. To help the local audience follow the action, subtitles are provided in Hungarian for the operas sung in their original languages.
During breaks in the performances, the audience can learn important and interesting background information through English-language interviews recorded with leading members of the opera’s cast, as well as enjoying other glimpses behind the scenes.
